Scholarships
Suffern Junior Woman's Club Scholarships
The Suffern Junior Woman's Club is proud to sponsor two annual scholarships. One to a Suffern High School senior and one to a returning female student at SUNY Rockland Community College.
The $1500 SJWC High School Scholarship is based on following criteria:
- Graduating Suffern High School senior
- Applicant's participation in community service
- Academic achievement (minimum 3.0 GPA)
- Financial need
- A four paragraph essay
- Interview with the Scholarship Committee
Applications are available through the Guidance Department of Suffern High School. The scholarship recipient is announced at the Evening of Excellence in May.
The second SJWC scholarship is the value of a three-credit course (approximately $400.00) at SUNY Rockland Community College, The scholarship is selected by the SUNY Rockland Foundation and is based on the following criteria:
- Applicant is a "returning female student"
- Academic achievement (minimum 3.0 GPA)
- Participation in community service
- Financial need
Applications are available through the SUNY Rockland Foundation. The scholarship recipient is announced at the Evening of Excellence in each May.
