Community Service
Suffern Junior Woman's Club serving the community

Community Service is an important part of our who we are. Some of the activities that we have supported this year include:
- Providing book bags with school supplies to deserving children at a local elementary school
- Anonymously providing a complete Thanksgiving dinner basket for a family from one of the local elementary schools
- Providing sleeping bags and new undergarments for Helping Hands of Rockland who sponsor a homeless shelter in the county from December to March
- Participating in Santa's Helpers by assisting Santa in providing gifts and new clothing and a holiday dinner basket for a select family
- Soliciting, wrapping and delivering small holiday gifts for women and children living at the Family Shelter during the holidays
- Sponsoring a Mother's Day brunch for women and children living at the Family Shelter
- Working with the American Cancer Society to provide a Thanksgiving basket to a family in treatment
- Wrapping and selling daffodils for the American Cancer Society
- Providing three meals per year at the Christ Church food pantry in Suffern
- Providing an Easter or Passover dinner basket for a local family
- Helping families who have suffered catastrophic loss because of fire
- Co-Sponsoring a performance of GREASE with Rockland Community College Performing Arts Department and donating all proceeds from the raffles and tickets to Juvenile Diabetes
- Sponsoring Club members in walk-a-thons
